2013 : What to do if your birthday is in March

REPOST : Wednesday, March 6, 2013

In case your birthday isn't St. Patrick's ...

Here is something for you to do for the next few weeks because I got plans ( obviously )

So in case you feel the need to exercise because you know Spring Forward is THIS Sunday! You can run on to the Row or the 408k Race to Row because shopping isn't the only thing you can do there apparently.
The 2nd Annual San Jose 408k "Race to the Row" features an 8k run/walk from HP Pavilion to a triumphant finish at Santana Row.  The Pat Tillman Foundation's Team Tillman is the Official Benefiting Partner of the 2013 event.

The fast and furious point to point course will take you through some of San Jose most charming neighborhoods, including The Alameda business district and the historical Rose Garden, before finishing "on The Row."

After the race enjoy a fun post-race party, the "408kids Race", and of course everything Santana Row has to offer.

After a trip to Vegas I hope to find a pot of gold on my birthday but something tells me I shouldn't hold my breath...so here is a free event that is happening Thursday March 14th that is free and good for you becase TechXploration is cool.
Grammy-nominated composer-pianist Vijay Iyer was described by Pitchfork as "one of the most interesting and vital young pianists in jazz today," and by The Los Angeles Weekly as "a boundless and deeply important young star." The American-born son of Indian immigrants, he won an unprecedented five major awards in the 2012 DownBeat International Critics Poll and was named one of the "50 Most Influential Global Indians" by GQ India.

Iyer is not merely one of the most lauded jazz pianists in recent memory--he's a polymath whose career has spanned the sciences, the humanities and the arts. He received an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in the cognitive science of music from the University of California, Berkeley, and has done extensive research into the effects of music and improvisation on the functions of the brain. Iyer has published articles in Journal of Consciousness Studies, Wire, Music Perception, Jazz Times, and The Best Writing on Mathematics: 2010.

This shindig is happening at PayPal Town Hall on 2161 North First Street San Jose, CA 95131
You know I love to give away money and I bet you love to golf so you can do both on Monday March 18th at the Stanford Golf Course for just $400 you can get some links in and make a difference in a disease that effects us all( we all got kidneys )
The NKF Cadillac Golf Classic is the nation's premier amateur golf event for charity. Each year thousands of golfers from across the country participate for the exciting competition and the chance to win great prizes-all to benefit a worthy cause. Each qualified winning team and the second and third finishers from every local National Kidney Foundation Cadillac Golf Classic Tournament is invited to compete for the National Championship held at the famed Pebble Beach Resorts (additional fees required). If the U.S. Open or the U.S. Amateur is not in your future, this three-day tournament may be your only chance to compete for a national championship at beautiful and challenging Pebble Beach.

You know I like fermented grape juice right? So on Sunday March 24th you can probably find me at Villa Ragusa sipping some of the great pinot from the Santa Cruz Mountains
Accompanying the tasting will be a silent auction and raffle featuring local wines, artisan foods, arts & crafts, winery tours and exotic get-aways. The live auction at the conclusion features heated bidding over double magnums from each winery, plus a sensational one-of-kind Paradise CuveƩ, a 5-liter blend of all the best Pinots being poured at the event. Now this is a party in a bottle!
